Free Bible Reader and Study โ€” Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 November 2026 ยท Version 1

In short

1. Who we are

Free Bible Reader and Study is made by PyBuilt Technologies LLC, 30 N Gould Street, Suite R, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].

2. What stays on your phone

Your notes on verses, your corrections of the text (My Version), the verses you link, the place where you read and the look of the reading window are kept in the app's private storage on your phone.

Your spiritual profile file. So that GOD's Calendar and this reader can show the same notes and corrections, the app writes one file, encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your phone: in Documents/Biblical_Calendar/spiritual when you are signed in with the same Google account as GOD's Calendar, otherwise in Documents/Bible_reader_<your account name> (or Documents/Bible_reader when you are not signed in). Nothing else of your Documents folder is changed or deleted.

Bibles and dictionaries. The Bibles, dictionaries and books you download are kept in the app and, as a copy you can use with other apps, in Documents/Biblical_Calendar/bibles. If you allow the app the folder Documents/Biblical_Calendar ("Use this folder"), it can also read the Bibles you put there yourself.

Error file. If the app meets an error, it writes a text file BiblicalCalendar_erori.txt in Documents/Biblical_Calendar with technical details (app version, place in the app, error message). It is never sent anywhere by the app; you may send it to us yourself if you want help.

3. Your Google account and Google Drive (optional)

You may sign in with Google ("Sign in with Google" in the reading window's menu) to keep your notes and corrections safe and the same in GOD's Calendar and on your other phones. The app asks Google only for access to its own hidden folder in your Drive (the drive.appdata permission); it never sees your other files or your contacts. The address of the account is read once from Google to know which account is signed in, and kept only on your phone; the shared file carries only an unreadable mark of it (a SHA-256 hash), never the address.

Sent there: your spiritual profile (notes, corrections, linked verses, reading settings, the names of the Bibles and books you have), encrypted on your phone with AES-256-GCM, and the key of that encryption, which stays in the same hidden folder so that both apps of your account can open the profile. Copies of the Bible translations you made in GOD's Calendar, kept in the same folder, are brought back to your phone when you sign in.

Google stores these files under the Google Privacy Policy. We never receive them.

Free Bible Reader and Study's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The data in the app's Drive folder is used only to save and bring back your own profile for you; it is never transferred to us or to anyone else, never used for advertising, and never read by people.

You can sign out in the same menu, and remove the app's access at any time: myaccount.google.com/permissions.

4. Permissions and why they are asked

5. Files the app downloads

Bibles, dictionaries, the Harmony of the Gospels, cross references, texts of the menus and reading voices are downloaded from our website pybuilt.tech when you ask for them (and the lists of what is there, at the start of the app). Like any web server, it sees your internet address and the file asked for, for the moment of the download; we do not use it to identify you, keep no profile and share it with no one. A Bible offered by a link opens in your browser on its own site, which sees your internet address like any website.

6. What we do not do

7. Keeping and deleting your data

Everything stays until you delete it. Uninstalling the app removes its private storage; the files in your Documents folder stay until you delete them with your phone's file manager. The copy in your Drive can be deleted by removing the app's access (section 3) and deleting its hidden data in Google Drive (Settings โ†’ Manage apps). Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

8. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and collects no information about anyone.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
